What’s your role at Ozzi Kleen?
Let's start with the basics. Yoko Hakata is a Project Engineer at Ozzi Kleen. Her responsibilities include handling all the documentation from sales inquiries for commercial systems, determining the appropriate size and design for clients' needs, and assisting the commercial sales manager with quoting the manufacture and implementation of the required system. In other words, Yoko is the mastermind who ensures that every project runs smoothly from start to finish.
How long have you been part of the Ozzi Kleen family?
Yoko has been a vital part of the Ozzi Kleen family for just over 11 years. She started her journey by creating workshop drawings and process and procedures manuals alongside the senior engineer. Additionally, she was in charge of producing semi-commercial units incorporating pump stations, grease traps, and water holding tanks. Yoko’s journey at Ozzi Kleen is a testament to her dedication and expertise in the field.
Can you share a glimpse of your typical day at Ozzi Kleen?
Every day at Ozzi Kleen is different for Yoko. Her typical day involves looking at production deadlines, speaking with salespeople and agents to determine timeframes, and preparing moulding schedules and equipment purchase lists to complete projects within the required timeframe. She ensures that production is organised and answers numerous questions from the sales and service teams. After that, she dives into design and drawing calculations, creating installation and operation manuals. Managing timeframes and deadlines to ensure systems are ready when required is a big part of her role. In essence, Yoko is like an air traffic controller, orchestrating everything to ensure a smooth landing for each project.
What’s your work superpower?
Yoko’s work superpower is her exceptional ability to visualise different ways a system can be utilised and then pull it all together in a safe and timely manner. Her colleagues often come to her with an idea, and Yoko makes it happen. She’s the go-to person for transforming concepts into reality, ensuring that every detail is meticulously planned and executed.
What do you enjoy most about working at Ozzi Kleen?
What Yoko enjoys most about working at Ozzi Kleen are the daily challenges and unusual tasks that require problem-solving skills. She loves the collaborative environment where everyone works together to solve problems. Yoko takes immense pride in the fact that all systems are designed and manufactured onsite. After immigrating from Japan and completing her master’s degree in Melbourne, Ozzi Kleen gave her a job that allowed her to create a stable life in Australia.
